About the masthead
Bookkeeping Centre began as a boutique accounting and bookkeeping firm in Rosebery, Sydney, with a Perth desk, serving small and medium businesses and not-for-profits. The masthead now publishes independent editorial in that same practical voice.
What the old firm did
The 2016 Bookkeeping Centre site described a boutique accounting and bookkeeping practice at Gardeners Road, Rosebery, with a Perth number and a simple promise: onsite and off-site books, BAS agency, payroll, and a financial controller’s eye on everyday decisions. Clients in media, health networks and clinics wrote that the file needed little oversight — that grant acquittals, lodgements and month-end arrived without theatre.
The copy was not fashionable. It talked about accurate data, validated numbers for a BAS and a tax return, meaningful statistics at month-end, and time returned to the owner. That is still the brief.
What the journal does now
The domain now publishes independent long-form. We do not take bookkeeping engagements through these pages. We write for the person who used to ring a Rosebery desk: the owner who wants the BAS to match the bank, the bookkeeper who has inherited a messy Xero file, the not-for-profit treasurer who must acquit a grant.
The voice stays Australian and specific. We name the ATO form, the Super Guarantee rate in force, the difference between a contractor and an employee on the payroll file. We do not sell software and we do not pretend a dashboard is a close.
How to read us
Start in the bookkeeping practice hub if you are building a file, BAS and GST if lodgement is the pressure, or industry guides if the work looks like a clinic, a site hut or a till. The editorial standards explain how we correct ourselves. Write for us if you have a file worth teaching from.
