An Australian journal of the books

Editorial standards

The old firm sold diligence. The journal owes readers the same: a file we would be willing to show a reviewer.

What we publish

Long-form explainers, methods and industry notes. We do not publish personal tax advice, investment tips or “how to pay less this quarter” schemes. Rates and thresholds are checked against ATO, Treasury and Fair Work material current at the time of writing. When a setting moves — super, payday super, write-off thresholds — we update the piece or add a note at the top.

Sources

Primary sources first: legislation, ATO rulings and practical compliance guidelines, Fair Work instruments, AASB where a report is in play. Software vendors are sources for product behaviour, not for tax law. We do not invent quotes from the original Rosebery clients.

Corrections

If a number, a due date or a characterisation is wrong, write to the desk. Material corrections are noted on the article with the date. We do not silently rewrite a live essay to hide a miss.

Independence

We do not take payment to place an unmarked story. Paid or guest-post links use rel="sponsored". Authors disclose a commercial relationship with a product they describe. See write for us and privacy.
